2013 recipient of the Honorable His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Award for Dedicated Service in the Field of Kidney Transplantation

In 1995, Apollo Hospital received a transplant and nephrology department, both of which were established there. Kidney transplantation, hemodialysis, medical renal diseases, and diabetic kidney disease are some of the specialties of this doctor.

In 1980, the President of India bestowed upon him the Vishishat Seva Medal for his service.

It was under his direction that the Army and Apollo Hospital in Delhi performed their first kidney transplant.

Received the Star Performer Consultant award from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on three separate occasions: in January 2013, September 2014, and January 2015.

On January 23, 2015, the Indian Society of Nephrology's North Zone gave him the Lifetime Achievement Award in Nephrology in recognition of his significant contributions to the expansion of the field of nephrology.

• Dr. Mishra retired prematurely at the rank of full Colonel in 1993 and went on to establish the Department of Nephrology at Escorts Research & Referral Hospital.
