Dr. Avnindra Gupta is a well-known eye specialist with more than 27 years of experience. His main focus is on examining the Uvea and Retina.

He has done his graduation and post-graduation from the prestigious Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU. Dr.Gupta did his fellowship in Retina and vitreous from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai in 1997-98 and then joined there as a Vitreo-Retinal consultant.

He was later promoted to the in–charge of the Department of Retina and Vitreous at Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli. 

Dr. Gupta has been associated with different organizations like Nayanjyoti Eye and Laser Centre, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, etc as various consultants and in other positions.

He has a strong interest in teaching, educating, and research and has presented many papers at national and international conferences.

He has been a faculty in various national conferences and has been a part of monthly meetings of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society.

Career Highlights

• He is part of the league of a few doctors in the world who have treated the largest number of patients in the world for Glued IOL.
• Presented paper on Long-term results of glued sclera fixated IOL; APCRS, Singapore 2014 and Long-term results of Scleral fixated IOL; ASCRS, 2014, Boston.
• Presented international research paper "To Evaluate the safety and stability of glued scleral fixated IOL in complicated situation" at American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery; San Fansico 2009 and San Deigo 2010 and Annual Conference of European Cataract and Refractive Society, Barcelona 2009 

Research and Fellowships

• More than 40 research papers in his name at various national and international conferences
• He did his fellowship in retina & vitreous from the well-known Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai &  then joined as a Vitreo-Retinal consultant there.
• Presented a Case Report on the Fungal infection of buckle implants with Dr. Vibha Sharma Gupta, Dr. Siddharth Kothari, and Dr Ramakrishnan at the 60th Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmic Society, 2001.

Awards and Recoginition

• He received the Best Video Award for his surgical skill at the EURETINA (A conference of 5000 retina surgeons from Europe and America) Conference in London.
• He has been a part of the Faridabad Ophthalmic Association and has given at least 30 presentations.
• Faculty in various national conferences like the 65th Annual Conference of Delhi Ophthalmological Society, New Delhi, 2014, and Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmic Society Ahmedabad, 2010 on the topic Dislocated IOL when what and how
