Dr. Giriraj Bora, one of the dedicated consultants in the liver transplant and HPB (Hepatopancreatobiliary) program, has a unique journey.

He completed his medical education at J L N Medical College, Ajmer. Following this, he delved into a residency in General Surgery at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow.

During this time, he worked as a Senior Resident in G I Surgery, gaining valuable experience.

Dr. Bora's commitment to learning led him to the MCh super specialty program in gastrointestinal surgery at G B Pant Hospital in Delhi.

He then returned to Jaipur, where he served as a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon during his residency. However, his passion for liver transplantation soon took center stage.

In 2011, Dr. Bora became a Fellow in Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery at CLBS. Here, he honed his skills in these highly specialized fields.

In January 2013, he joined CLBS as a consultant. Dr. Bora's role in assessing donors prior to liver transplants is pivotal to our center's operations.

Beyond his work within our center, Dr. Bora has shared his knowledge on national and international platforms, including prestigious conferences like the ILTS (International Liver Transplant Society) meetings in San Francisco (2012) and Sydney (2013).

• Over the course of his career, he has performed over 1500 liver transplants with 100% success.
• He is credited for performing the first liver transplant in Rajasthan.
• For the state of California, he is responsible for both the first liver transplants from a living donor and the first liver transplants from a deceased donor.
• He is Highly Skilled in Performing Complex Gastrointestinal Procedures.
• He started his career as a senior consultant at GB Pant Hospital, Delhi, followed by Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow.
• Then he was a consultant at CLBS and then worked at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.
