His educational background includes an MBBS from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sambalpur, an MS in General Surgery from Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai, and an MCh in Urology/Genito-Urinary Surgery from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai.

His area of expertise lies in treating Laparoscopic Surgery, Infertility Evaluation / Treatment, Urinary Incontinence (UI) Treatment, Male Sexual Problems, Wellness, Kidney Transplant, Urologic Oncology and Prostate Laser Surgery.

Dr. Gopichand Mutyalapati has conducted more than 3000 major and supermajor Uro-oncology surgeries at KIMS hospital, including over 50 successful robotic surgeries.
