Dr. J C Vij is regarded as the top and senior-most Gastroenterologist with over 53 years of experience.

He has performed various complicated endoscopic procedures mechanical lithotripsy, pancreatic stenting, biliary stenting, and colonoscopy surgeries.

Dr. Vij held the position of Chairman and Senior Advisor at Dr B L Kapur Memorial, Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi.

He earned his MBBS, MD (Medicine) from Pt. B D Sharma Medical College.

He holds the record with 14 years of experience in postgraduate gastroenterology teaching and 17 years of undergraduate teaching.

In 1992, he was honored with the R C Garg Memorial award for the best paper titled "A clinicopathological study of abdominal tuberculosis," which was published in the Indian Journal of Tuberculosis.
