Dr. Jamwal has done substantial research on various topics related to the liver, including fatty liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, biliary tract disorders, advanced endoscopy procedures for liver diseases, and fecal microbiota transplantation.
His research and clinical focus are on NAFLD and its spectrum, bile and its metabolism, enterohepatic circulation, the biliary tree (which includes the gall bladder, bile duct, and pancreas), gastrointestinal bleeding, and portal Hemodynamics.
Previously, he oversaw the Gastroenterology Center for Liver and Digestive Disorders at Dharamshila Narayana Super Specialty Hospital. He had previously worked as an assistant professor at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.
He has spoken on behalf of India at numerous international conferences and conventions, including the DDW, APDW, AASLD, and the Indo-US Biopharma Summit.
As part of his studies at ILBS, he traveled to Kyushu University in Japan to learn mucosal dissection and third-space Endoscopy techniques.
His education in advanced endoscopy included a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he became proficient in performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures and mucosal suturing.
