About Doctor

Dr. Subhash Gupta is one of the most senior and leading liver transplant surgeons in India with over 35 years of experience in this field.

He has successfully performed over 3,000 liver surgeries and more than 300 Whipple procedures. He and his team have also completed 300 Living Donor Liver Transplants (LDLT) with great success.

Additionally, he also did 100 back-to-back pancreaticoduodenectomy surgeries at a private hospital in Delhi and treated 125 patients with Whipple’s procedure using a special technique called isolated Roux loop.

Dr. Gupta is skilled in treating many liver-related conditions including cholangitis, cholecystitis, liver cirrhosis, metabolic diseases, vascular and cystic disorders, end-stage liver disease, inflammatory problems, and liver infections.

He played an important role in developing India’s first Living Donor Liver Transplant (LDLT) program in which he helped manage top liver transplant programs at famous hospitals like Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

Moreover, he created the liver donor liver transplant (LDLT) model to solve the problem of not having enough deceased donors in India. However, this model has helped many patients get liver transplants in time.

Dr. Gupta has shared his knowledge widely by writing over 30 research papers on Living Donor Liver Transplants in top medical journals. Along with his team, he has helped other hospitals in India and other countries to start their liver transplant centers.

Besides performing surgeries, Dr. Gupta also looks after safety procedures in important hospital departments like Hepatology, Anaesthesia, and Critical Care.

In 2012, the Delhi Medical Association awarded him the “Vishist Chikitsh Rattan” title on Doctor’s Day. His team was also chosen as a finalist in the “Surgical Team of the Year” category for the BMJ India Awards.

Dr. Subhash Gupta leads safety measures at the center to ensure that patients receive the best care.
