Dr. Rajagopalan Krishnan is a highly accomplished and experienced Spine Surgeon, recognized among the top professionals in his field, with 35 years of expertise.

In 1976, Dr. Krishnan graduated with his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, and then in 1980, he earned his master's degree in orthopedic surgery from the Central Institute of Orthopedics at Safdarjang Hospital.

After finishing his Senior Residency, he pursued additional training and certification in the United Kingdom.

While there, he earned a Master of Clinical Hygiene degree (MCH) from the University of Liverpool, a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School and Hammersmith Hospital in London, and he passed the United Kingdom Intercollegiate Specialty Board Examination of the Surgical Royal Colleges.

In 1995, he became a Senior Consultant in Orthopedics at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

In 1999, the Mid-Cheshire NHS Trust recruited him as a full-time Consultant Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon. He also has a private practice at the BMI South Cheshire Hospital and the Spire Stretton Hospital.

He was the first person to establish a spine service in East and South Cheshire, and his practice was solely dedicated to the treatment of spinal conditions.

Spine surgery was one of the specialties that he instructed specialist registrars from the Mersey Rotation.

Since he first came back to Apollo in April 2012, his whole practice has been focused on spine surgery, which he has been doing for well over 15 years in the United Kingdom.

He treats a wide variety of spine conditions, ranging from disc and degenerative problems to spinal deformities, spinal infections, spinal injuries, and spinal tumors. His scope of practice is extensive.

• He has a wealth of experience in spinal surgery as a result of his work at Mid-Cheshire Hospital for ten years, where he was responsible for the care of more than three thousand outpatient spine patients and performed more than three hundred fifty spine surgeries annually.
• In addition, he maintains a busy private practice in Cheshire, where patients come from North Wales.
• His surgical expertise includes procedures as varied as cervical and lumbar discectomies, vertebrectomies, TESSYS, spine reconstruction for trauma and spinal tumors, and the whole spectrum of spinal abnormalities.
• He ensures that all of his patients have thorough documentation by auditing the outcomes of all of his patients and requiring all of his patients to complete international protocols such as the Oswestry Disability Index, the Canadian Neck Disability Index, and his own Spinal Deformity Protocol.
