Subsequently, in 1986, he obtained his MS in general surgery from the same institution, followed by an FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom in 1987.

In addition to being a member of the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS) and the National Convener for the Fellowship program in Vascular Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS).

He has also been elected Vice President of the International Society for Vascular Surgery (USA) in 2010 and Secretary of the International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS) in 2007.
