Dr. Ravi Bhatia is a respected Neurosurgeon with an impressive career spanning 48 years, during which he has garnered widespread acclaim for his exceptional contributions to the field.
In 2010, the Neurological Society of India bestowed upon him the Life Time Achievement Award for his work.
Professor Jacob Chandy at CMCH, Vellore was the one who got him started in the field of neurosurgery.
Then on, he completed his education with great success under the tutelage of Professor P.N.Tandon at AIIMS and later, under the tutelage of the late Professor Kristian Kristiansen at Oslo (Norway).
During his time in Scandinavia, he also collaborated with Professor Ansgar Torvik in the field of Neuropathology and Professor Lars Leksell in the field of Stereotactic Surgery.
His areas of expertise in neurosurgery include stereotactic surgery, cranio-vertebral abnormalities, neurovascular surgery, and the removal of inflammatory lesions in the brain and spinal cord.
He also performs surgery on patients with tumors in and around the sella.
In addition to that, he has experience working for the National Board of Examinations as an inspector for neurosurgical training programs.
His knowledge has been recognized on a global scale, and as a result, he has been asked to serve as a visiting professor at a number of neurosurgical centers in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Norway, and Pakistan.
He has been an active participant in a variety of neurosurgical meetings both nationally and internationally.
In addition to serving as a previous trustee, he was one of the founding members of the Spastics Society of Northern India.
He belongs to a few different organizations, including the Neurological Society of India and the Delhi Neurological Association.
In the Indian Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, he has the title of Honorary Member.
