He received his MBBS in 1987 from G B Pant Hospital and Moulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, and in 1995.

He received his Master of Science in Ophthalmology from Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, In 1992, he received his Doctor of Opthalmology from Guru Nanak Eye Centre in New Delhi.
