 He earned his MBBS from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in 1988, Pune. In recognition of his work, the British Association of Urological Surgeons awarded him their Guy Baines medal.

The Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons has honored this group twice in a row as the best team.

In addition to reviewing articles for the British Medical Journal, he also reviews articles for the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Journal of the American Association of Pediatric Surgeons. He is the South Asian International Children's Continence Society representative and serves on the journal's editorial board.

• In 2017, at IAPSCON (PESI, New Delhi), he gave a presentation titled "Best Operative Video."
