Dr. Surendra Nath Khanna is an associate Director of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery. He is now in charge of this department. He is an expert in all aspects of surgical procedures involving the adult heart. He has extensive knowledge and experience in a variety of cardiological fields, making him one of the most prominent and accomplished cardiac surgeons today. His never-ending mission is to make the most advanced techniques in heart surgery available in India at prices that are affordable to the average person.
He graduated from King George's Medical College in Lucknow. Following the completion of his Master of Science in General Surgery degree, he went on to get training in cardiac surgery at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai and Christian Medical College in Vellore. After that, he relocated to another country and received his education under Professor Ottavio Alfieri, who is renowned all over the world for his ground-breaking work in the field of heart valve procedures.
Since the beginning of his career 26 years ago, Dr. Surendra Nath Khanna has been operating as a heart surgeon. Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 17,000 procedures on the heart. He has worked as a consultant cardiac surgeon at a number of prestigious hospitals, one of which is the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy.
It was at this hospital that he received his training from Professor Ottavio Alfieri, who is known all over the world for his pioneering techniques in valve repairs and valve surgery for severe left ventricular dysfunction. Since he was 26 years old, he has been actively volunteering his time with Community Outreach Services and spreading awareness about heart disorders among the general public. The fact that he has been consistently reaching out to the people of India is something that has been extensively appreciated by the media as well as by society in general. He has provided free cardiac treatment to people in outlying and unreached regions of Northern India.
