Dr. T. S. Kler, an interventional cardiologist with 30 years of experience, is recognized for his pioneering work. In 1995, he became the first in India to insert an ICD.
He obtained his MBBS from Medical College, Patiala, followed by an MD in Medicine from PGI Chandigarh, and a DM in Cardiology from PGI.
Dr. Kler's achievements include the first biventricular pacemaker and the initial ICD/Biventricular pacemaker "combo device" in South East Asia. Performing around 300 angioplasties annually, his expertise spans stenting, atherectomy, rotablation, and 2000 cardiac diagnostic angiographies.
Specializing in advanced coronary interventions, angioplasty, pacing, electrophysiology, heart failure devices, cardiomyopathy, and sudden cardiac death, he received the PADMA BHUSHAN in 2005.
The 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award recognized his service to global clinical and preventive cardiology. Dr. Kler has contributed research articles to national and international publications.
He is a lifelong member of professional organizations, including the Indian Medical Association, CSI, ICC, API, IHRS, and Heart Rhythm Society, reflecting his commitment to advancing cardiovascular care.
