Dr. Varun Mittal has extensive training and experience in robotic urologic cancer surgery and kidney transplantation. Specifically, he is interested in ABO/HLA incompatible and deceased organ transplants, kidney exchange, and paired kidney exchange.

He has been integral to prestigious institutions' highly effective kidney transplantation programs for over a decade.

A gold medal for best robotic surgical video from AMASI is only among the many honors he has received throughout his academic career.

In 2015, he was granted a fellowship to travel internationally by the American Urologic Association. Many articles and book chapters have been credited to him.

He has presented his findings in the form of papers, presentations, and surgical videos at numerous national and international conferences devoted to urology and organ transplantation.

• Urological Society of India (AUA-USI) has honored him with a fellowship that would allow him to travel abroad.
