Dr. Vivek Vij is a pioneer in liver transplant surgery, credited with developing living donor surgery and standardizing safety protocols to achieve the highest donor safety since the time of its inception in India.

He is the first surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to publish a series of laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy in "Liver Transplantation", as well as one of four surgeons worldwide to perform more than 4000+ liver transplants using living donors and diseased donors as well and holds the record of 97% Patient and 100% Donor success rate.

He is also the founder of the Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Sciences department at Fortis Healthcare Group. Additionally, he has presented at over 50 national and international conferences, adding to his professional accomplishments.

Dr. Vivek Vij's work has been featured in prestigious publications such as the American Journal of Transplantation and Liver Transplant. His research primarily focuses on living donor transplantation and the medical management of liver patients.

Dr. Vij's team has performed 97% of all liver transplants performed by Fortis Hospital, Noida with a record Biliary Complication rate (BCR) of <6%.

He has been recognized for his skills in many Asian countries (Mongolia, Pakistan, Iraq, and the Central Asian States), as well as many African and South American nations.
