Dr. Y. K. Mishra is among India's most eminent cardiothoracic surgeons. He has been practicing for over 32 years, is well-known, has conducted over 14,000 open-heart operations, and has used robotic surgery for more than 500 patients.

He has a strong interest in teaching, education, and research in addition to his clinical practice, and he has been asked to speak at conferences and universities all around the globe.

Also, he has presided over scientific sessions at national and international conferences in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Japan, France, and the Far East.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons in India and a Founding Member of the Indian College of Cardiology.

In addition to his research and treatment efforts, he established the Payasuni Heart Valve Foundation.
