Dr. Giriraj Bora is one of India’s leading liver transplant surgeons, with 17 years of experience.

He has successfully performed over 1,500 liver transplants. 

His expertise includes shunt surgery for portal hypertension, gastrointestinal surgery, liver transplants for liver cancer, portal vein reconstruction during Whipple’s procedure for pancreatic cancers, and ultra-low anterior resection (LAR) for rectal cancers.

Dr. Bora conducted the first liver transplants in Rajasthan and is credited with the state's inaugural Living Donor and Deceased Donor Liver Transplants.

Notably, he led a complex liver transplant on young Hoor, who had biliary atresia. Due to a shortage of cadaver veins, he utilized a bovine jugular vein with the family’s consent, demonstrating his innovative approach and commitment to patient well-being. 

Dr. Bora also successfully performed a liver transplant for Hanuman Prasad, suffering from cirrhosis and hepatitis B, using Prasad’s wife, Kalpana, as a donor. Both recovered well, highlighting his dedication and skill in challenging cases.
